21 Dec Opportunity – PROTAX Research Associate
The Faculty of Business and Law at Coventry University has a newly formed Research Centre in Financial and Corporate Integrity (FCI) that provides a ‘hub’ for researchers to explore the synergetic and inter-disciplinary nature of problems facing businesses, such as accountability, integrity, governance, ethics, risk and compliance.
The purpose of this post is to provide a unique opportunity for a PhD graduate to pursue a structured career pathway via a new Horizon 2020 funded project called PROTAX. Under line management supervision and guidance, you will contribute to the PROTAX project by applying the philosophical and methodological expertise gained from your doctoral studies to the delivery of the project with an emphasis on detection and prosecution of tax crimes in the European Union.
The position is for 3 years (duration of PROTAX) with a possibility of extension (subject to further funding). The candidate should have a sound understanding of tax law and policies in the European Union (EU) and, in particular, tax fraud and evasion practices, as revealed in the Panama Papers, LUX Leaks and Paradise papers, among various other examples.
